Md. Abu Obaida was born in 1980 into an esteemed Muslim family in Karaiyanagar village, Satkania Thana, Chattogram District, Bangladesh. He pursued his legal education at the University of Chittagong, earning an LL.B. (Honors) degree and later securing the first position in the LL.M. examination from the same institution. Before joining the judiciary, he served as a lecturer in the Department of Law at Southeast University, Dhaka, and Premier University, Chattogram. In 2008, he embarked on a distinguished judicial career by joining the Bangladesh Judicial Service. Over the years, he held several key judicial positions, including Judicial Magistrate, Senior Judicial Magistrate, Senior Assistant Judge, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, and Additional District & Sessions Judge. His unwavering dedication, integrity, and judicial excellence have earned him recognition throughout his career. Currently, he serves as the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Sylhet, continuing his commitment to upholding justice and strengthening the judiciary.
